This Pull Request fixes/closes #1894.

It changes the following:

adds a line_break_visible theme option (default true)
shows the ¶ only if enabled

I tried to follow the spirit of the project but I'm new to rust so please take a closer look :)

I followed the checklist:

I added unittests
I ran make check without errors
I tested the overall application
I added an appropriate item to the changelog
